Signing On!

Well Hello there, all ye Festival Freddies!

Here it is, blog no.1, signing on!. I write in the middle of a Late Night Shopping flurry...

All of the Pulse Team here at the New Wolsey are gearing up for tonights premier event - Pulse Late Night Shopping! we're expecting to see all you Festival Freddies here and a few Cautious Cats too.We decided that because there is so much anticipantion for Pulse in the region, we should be able to help people make the most of their festival experience. So, the folks responsible for bringing the work to Ipswich are on hand to help you plan your festival diary, hence - Late Night Shopping, theres a glass of free wine too, so whats to think about?!

Pulse Late Night Shopping - tonight, 7-10pm at the New Wolsey Theatre, be there!!

Planning for the festival is going really well. Analogue arrive on Monday for a two week residency at the New Wolsey Studio, leading up to them opening Pulse with a sharing of the work in progress Beachy Head. There are two nights for this event, which is good, because the first performance is practically sold out already!!

On another note, a Pulse '07 success story.... Story Of A Rabbit, which is the Hoipolloi & New Wolsey Co-production that opened the '07 Festival, returns to the New Wolsey main house for two nights following a successful Edinburgh Festival, National and International Tour!! The show plays on the 30th and 31st May, see you there!

Anyway, time to go... see ya soon!

Festival Director

Knowing the venue would be open, I made a trip to the Wolsey Studio last night to buy tickets for an event this evening. It was rather odd to be told by a member of staff "the box-office is closed" when she was carrying a bunch of keys and could simply have opened the door and sold us the tickets.

While it's pleasing to see events such as the Pulse Festival staged in Ipswich, it's frustrating that access is hampered by asinine ticket sale arrangements.

Dear Anonymous,

I'm sorry that you weren’t able to buy tickets on Friday night, I hope that you've managed to buy them in the meantime!

Whilst we are trying really hard to create the round-the-clock festival atmosphere, all of the teams supporting the festival are at full stretch, including those fantastic Box Office guys & gals, who are present at venues across the town over the next two weeks. Unfortunately, only those guys are able to get access to the Box Office system and once they have left the building, ticket sales aren’t possible.

Do check out the Book Tickets page on this site, which will give you a little more info.

Hope you’re enjoying the festival – any winners so far? My hot tip is A Mother Speaks this week on the 5th June!

Best

Steve
